Dell Studio XPS 1640

Dell has introduced its new Studio XPS model. The Dell Studio XPS 1640 is an excellent desktop alternative with stunning multimedia features and an amazing blend of elegance and performance.
Well known for its performance and affordable pricing, Dell has always lacked giving light weight and stylist models. Dell revolutionized its laptop design with the introduction of its XPS series. The Studio XPS range is the next step in this endeavor which inherits metallic and leather accents from its XPS predecessor with nicer features from the Studio line.
Some key features of Dell Studio XPS 1640:
- ATI 512MB graphics card gives good video, gaming and multimedia experience.
- 16" Ultra widescreen display with optional RGB-LED for brighter colors. The 16:9 aspect ratio is impressive.
- Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8600 (3MB cache/2.4GHz/1066Mhz FSB) promises high performance.
- 4GB2 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1067MHz makes multi-tasking easier and gives faster and better performance.
- Backlit keyboard, touch pad and touch sensitive multimedia controls assures better ease to use in low light conditions.
- A wide range of ports including 8-in-1 Flash Memory Reader, HDMI, DisplayPort, Dual Headphone jacks, USB and eSata are available.
- Slot loading DVD burner with Blue ray burner upgrade option.
- Excellent sound quality aided by speakers with an integrated subwoofer.
- Extremely over glossy display might not be very impressive to view in sunlight.
- The design is quite solid and sturdy, though not as rugged as its business notebook line.
- The bottom access panel is a single panel, which will help people to make multiple hardware upgrade at a time, but it is not interesting to remove entire panel just to upgrade your RAM.

Dell XPS M1530 Vs Dell Studio 15

Dell XPS and Dell Studio laptops have hit the market well before this post is live. Let us focus on the comparison rather than description of these models.
I have seen many of my friends getting confused in choosing one between these XPS and Studio models. XPS combines a powerful processing technology and cutting edge design for a ver
y professional laptop. Studio combines the design features of XPS and bargain price of Inspiron with pretty good performance. There are considerable similarities and differences between these models.
- XPS has excellent multimedia capabilities and is a light weight luxury laptop.
- Studio is designed with elegance of XPS at a budget price and is a little heavier. We could see that most design features of XPS is present in Studio. Few even prefer Studio design and looks to XPS.
- Basic XPS laptop fairs better the basic Studio laptop for advanced features since the normal configuration of XPS itself encompasses high end features.
- Studio has very good upgrade options. We can configure a Studio laptop to almost same configuration as an XPS laptop for a deal of $300 less.
- The graphics display and mutimedia features of XPS is still unparalleled by Studio.
- Both are available in 15.4" widescreen display with 3GB/4GB RAM, 250GB/320GB Hard drive, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, finger print reader, bluetooth, integrated wireless and integrated 2MP webcam.
- Slot loading DVD writer is the default option and both XPS and Studio can have it upgraded to Blue-ray burner.
